Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: This waking night opportunity takes place in an award‑winning residential home, proudly recognised at The Great British Care Awards and the We Dare Awards — achievements that reflect the dedication of the team and the vibrant, caring home created by the people who live here. You’ll be supporting a group of wonderful individuals with a wide range of needs, including complex learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities. Many of the people who live here have been supported by the same team for years, and the staff know their routines, preferences and needs extremely well. As a bank waking night worker, you’ll be warmly welcomed into an established, supportive team who value teamwork, positivity and clear communication — especially throughout the night. The home itself is a beautiful, well‑loved space surrounded by a large garden, which the people we support take great pride in. In 2018, everyone worked together on a huge garden transformation project, and caring for it has become a shared passion. BBQ season is a big part of the year, and the garden is often filled with laughter, activity and staff who help make it meaningful. You’ll be supporting people during the quieter hours of the night, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable and reassured. This might include: Providing support with personal care routines Helping with repositioning and mobility needs Monitoring wellbeing, sleep, and emotional comfort Responding to night‑time anxieties or health needs Completing night‑time domestic tasks that support smooth mornings Working closely with the day team to ensure consistent, person‑centred support The people who live here are busy, active and full of personality. During the day, they love swimming — in fact, one person goes nearly every day — as well as accessing community activities, visiting new places, and documenting their favourite moments in photo albums and memory books. The team is described as adaptable, flexible, enthusiastic, and supportive — no task is too big, and they work together with positivity and pride. As a waking night support worker, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the home safe, settled and happy through the night, while contributing to the consistency of support that means so much to the people who live here.
