Job overview Our Spinal Injury & Rehabilitation department is seeking to appoint two Senior Clinical Fellows: first post commences asap for a fixed term period of 2 years, and the second post commences from August 2026 to August 2028. Candidates must hold full Membership exams (e.g., MRCP, MRCS, MRCGP, MRCA) or an equivalent postgraduate qualification as assessed by the appropriate Royal College. The duties of this post is equivalent to ST3 Level and above. The post holder will gain experience working in a nationally recognised spinal cord injury centre in the UK based out of the Princess Royal Spinal Cord Injury Centre, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. This post is also suitable for applicants from overseas who are looking at opportunities to gain experience via the Medical Training Initiative (MTI) route in the UK. Appropriate support for proceeding the application via the Royal College of Physicians and Academy of Royal Colleges for a successful MTI candidate will be provided. Advert Applications are invited for the above post to be based at the Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre, Northern General Hospital. In the role of Clinical Fellow in Spinal Cord Medicine and Trauma Rehabilitation, you will work in the second largest spinal injuries centre in the UK, dealing with a range of medical and surgical problems related to spinal cord injury. Whilst not part of a formal training rotation, a wealth of training and research opportunities will be available. This post would best suit candidates hoping to pursue a career in Spinal Injuries Management who is looking for further experience. You will be part of a medical team comprising five Consultants in Spinal Injuries, two Specialty Registrars, three Clinical Fellows, two foundation doctors, 2 GP Trainees and two Advanced Nurse Practitioners. The appointee will provide on-call cover to the centre in rotation along with the other Registrars. This posts does not award a National Training Number. As this posts is not recognised as a ‘training post’, full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required.
