Job overview
Our Radiology Appointment staff are the first point of contact for patients needing investigations across Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. They are vital to ensure patients receive an excellent experience.
Main duties of the job
* Support patients by booking diagnostic investigations and expediting, where appropriate, in line with cancer and 6‑week diagnostic DM01 pathways
* Ensure supporting information is available when appropriate and manage urgent items
* Monitor urgent investigation requests to ensure they are processed properly
* Work closely with all staff to ensure compliance with 18‑week referral to treatment (RTT) targets, 6‑week diagnostic DM01, and 2‑week cancer targets, expediting appointments to avoid breaches
* Maintain an accurate filing system and record information in CRIS
* Follow the tracking procedure for patient note movement
* Update patient details on CRIS/EPR and other Trust and departmental record systems
* Highlight and re‑book patients who missed or cancelled appointments
* Coordinate patient notes from other hospitals and organisations when needed
* Act on queries from referrers, patients and other parties, providing reassurance and support
Person specification
* Good educational background (GCSE pass – English and Maths)
* Computer literate
* Experience in appointment booking
* Experience with CRIS/PACS
* Experience in medical appointments
