Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities. This position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Duties
* Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
* Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
* Monitor and record patients' health status, reporting any changes to nursing staff.
* Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
* Drive patients to appointments or social activities as required.
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
Skills
* Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
* Experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous.
* Proficient in IT skills for documentation and communication tasks.
* Ability to drive is desirable for transporting patients when needed.
* Excellent command of English for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
* Empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
