Job Description EC&I Engineer Altera Recruitment Group is looking to appoint an EC&I Engineer. The role of an EC&I Engineer is suited to a skilled professional with strong electrical, control, and instrumentation expertise who thrives in a dynamic operations environment. The EC&I Engineer will support maintenance, fault diagnosis, and optimisation initiatives, working collaboratively across teams to ensure asset reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Provide technical input into plant maintenance, development projects, and system enhancements. Oversee safe working practices, including contractor supervision and adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards. Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities to enhance operational performance. Maintain accurate asset and maintenance records through the company’s CMMS system. Collaborate closely with operations and maintenance teams to drive efficient fault finding, problem solving, and system improvements. Candidate Requirements Recognised engineering qualification in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (HNC, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Proven experience in power generation, energy-from-waste, or a related industrial sector. Solid understanding of E,C&I systems, including VSDs, instrumentation, and distribution equipment. Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, with experience of working under permit-to-work systems. IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms (experience with MAXIMO or similar is advantageous). What’s on Offer Competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum.
