You will have background knowledge and skills to assess proposals involving access to Mining Remediation Authority’s property.
Your background could include a relevant degree in geotechnical, minerals, or civil engineering, or relevant experience in areas such as site & minerals surveying, ground investigation, mining engineering, geology & geochemistry, environmental control & legislation, with some understanding of mining risks.
You should be proficient in digital tools like GIS and mapping software and capable of producing clear, understandable reports.
Knowledge of the permitting process is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Technical assessments and permitting decisions according to our processes and obligations.
* Mostly desk-based work, with occasional fieldwork for compliance checks and stakeholder engagement.
* Managing a busy workload, assessing multiple applications, seeking support, and escalating issues as needed.
* Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with customers, including handling difficult conversations and explaining decisions clearly.
* Processing permit applications related to ground investigations, remediation, shaft location, and grouting operations.
Support and Development
You will be supported by a team including peer Assistant Permitting Managers, Permitting Managers, a Permit team Leader, and a Principal Permitting Manager.
Opportunities include developing expertise or leading major infrastructure development programmes.

Location and Schedule
Hybrid working: approximately 2 days in Mansfield office.
