Professional Radiographer (B5-6 Development Opportunity)

We are offering a development opportunity for a newly qualified or soon-to-qualify Diagnostic Radiographer to join our supportive Radiology team. This is a progressive Band 5 to Band 6 post, designed to support your transition from student to confident autonomous practitioner within a structured and well‑supported framework.
You will be primarily based at Rugby St Cross Hospital, with rotational experience at University Hospital Coventry, gaining exposure to a wide range of imaging modalities and clinical environments.
As part of the Band 5 Preceptorship Programme you will receive an assigned mentor and regular review meetings. Progression to Band 6 is anticipated within 24 months, contingent on successful completion of required competencies, including participation in clinical audit activities.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their current UK occupational health provider or from their UK GP.
Job responsibilities
* Perform a wide range of radiographic examinations to a high technical and professional standard.
* Rotate through core areas including General X‑ray, Theatre imaging, CT and DEXA scanning, supporting a flexible, responsive service.
* Participate in the out‑of‑hours service, supporting emergency and urgent imaging needs.
* Deliver safe, compassionate, and patient‑centred care, maintaining dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
* Maintain accurate and timely patient records in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
* Adhere to all health and safety, radiation protection and infection prevention policies.
* Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
* Undertake a structured development programme in DEXA scanning and support the ongoing growth and delivery of this service.
* Actively engage in continuous professional development and support the training of junior staff and students where appropriate.
