Assistant Accountant
Park Hill Hospital - Doncaster
30 hours per week
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified, financially astute individual seeking to advance their career within a finance and business administration environment.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will be a self-starter with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. A sharp eye for detail and accuracy is essential, along with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be part of a small, dynamic team within a busy hospital setting, where your contributions will have a meaningful impact.
We’re looking for someone with the drive and ambition to grow into a Head of Finance role in the future.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
2. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
3. Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reconciliations
4. Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers regarding financial queries
5. Contribute to process improvements and support audit preparation
6. Provide administrative support to the Head of Finance and wider team
Technical Skills & Application:
7. Part-qualified accountant ( ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience
8. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
9. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
10. Effective time management and organisational skills
11. A self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving
12. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
13. Ambition to grow into a senior finance role
