About The Role
We are seeking a Bilingual Classroom Assistant to support our EAL learners in a tiered provision. You will provide tailored support to students whose first language is not English, assisting individual students and small groups under the guidance of a teacher, as well as leading small group withdrawal interventions. You will monitor student progress, record and report on achievements, and develop interventions to enhance their learning.
About You
The ideal candidate will have Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths and be able to speak, read, and write in one or more additional languages. Our diverse community speaks languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Nepali, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Somali, Ukrainian, and Yoruba. A TEFL/ESOL qualification and/or experience in teaching English as an additional language is desirable.
You should be flexible, capable of working across multiple languages, and able to support students from diverse backgrounds. Good communication skills and knowledge of best practices for meeting the needs of EAL learners are essential.
