Job Description

Working within the Public Safety business, you will be responsible for defining the policies and standards that guide technology delivery, possessing significant experience in modern, cloud-based technology standards and practices.
As Solution Architect, you are accountable for leading a team of architects and providing architectural design and technology roadmaps for complex Policing and National Security applications supporting high volume, mission-critical products and services. There will also be opportunities to oversee ongoing architectural needs within our Control Room application suites.
Youll work closely with Product Managers, Delivery, and Technical Leads to influence and define a technology roadmap to meet our commercial and technological goals.
The core aim of this role is to provide technical assurance to ensure successful deployment of NECSWS Public Safety products into clients while protecting our commercial position.
To succeed, you should be able to mediate between teams and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, especially stakeholders at all levels. You should understand the evolving nature of technology delivery in an agile environment. High stakeholder expectations mean youll facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity within constrained timescales.
The Solution Architect will collaborate with the project or programme manager and the wider architecture team to:
1. Ensure that scope of supply is correctly documented and maintained
2. Identify and manage technical project risks
3. Ensure non-functional requirements from customers are agreed and documented
4. Conduct practical impact assessments with well-defined scope and implementation, using existing products where possible
5. Identify opportunities for selling additional product capabilities
Qualifications
You will have a good understanding/awareness of:
* C++
* C#
* SQL Server
* Windows platforms
* Domains / AD
* Mitel skills-based routing integration
And good practical knowledge of some or all of the following:
* C coding
* SIP protocol
* VOIP – RTP / RTCP, including latency/jitter handling
You will also have in-depth knowledge of some or all of the following:
* Tetra network behaviors – specifically Motorola Dimetra
* 3GPP network behaviors, especially related to Kodiak MCX
* MCX API usage of Softil SDK
* Analogue Radio base stations and features – VHF, MF
* Telephone PABX functionality
* Airwave certification processes
* EISEC service
The Solution Architect will manage relationships with customer technical staff, providing technical guidance on issues like firewall settings.
Support the bid process with technical responses, infrastructure sizing (mainly cloud-based), and clarification support.
The role emphasizes promoting and leading the architectural vision both within the architecture team and across wider technology and business teams.
