Exciting Opportunity for a Therapy Assistant – Cambridge
Teaching Personnel is thrilled to present an amazing opportunity to work with a valued SEN partner school in Cambridge. The school is looking for a highly motivated, passionate, and innovative Therapy Assistant to join their dedicated team and play a key role in supporting the wellbeing and development of students with complex needs.
About the Role
As a Therapy Assistant, you will:
* Assist in delivering therapy sessions under the guidance of qualified therapists
* Support pupils in therapeutic environments, including sensory regulation spaces
* Work with class teams to implement communication and regulation strategies
* Help prepare materials, resources, and observations for pupil profiles and planning
* Support staff development through modelling and assisting in training
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote inclusive and trauma-informed practices
The Ideal Candidate:
✔️ Previous experience of working in a therapy, care or education setting (ESSENTIAL)
✔️ GCSE in maths and English at Grades A*-C or equivalent (ESSENTIAL)
✔️Relevant additional qualifications in BSL, Makaton or PECS or similar and willingness to undertake further study (DESRIABLE)
✔️ Knowledge of the Statutory requirement of IEPs and EHCPs. (ESSENTIAL)
✔️ DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
