The IoH is in an enviable position to lead the global hospitality sector in DEIB, creating educational resources, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), articles, publish white papers, case studies and supporting businesses and individuals with EDI strategies and best practices. Success in this role will be increased diversity activities across our sector, promotion, and education as to the value of EDI, industry collaboration to tackle the challenges ahead and sharing best practice. The role of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) Lead for Hospitality (herein “DEIB Lead”) will be part of the IoHs central educational and best practice services. As the DEIB lead, the post holder will: • Ensure that the DEIB agenda is recognised as positive, proactive, and influential in contributing to the IoHs strategic and operational planning process. • To support the development and implementation of DEIB best practice and education in respect of policies, procedures and guidelines, practices and behaviours all designed to best support our membership and wider hospitality community. • Provide advice and support in respect of policies, procedures and guidelines, practices and behaviours all designed to best support our membership and wider hospitality community. • Provide relevant training opportunities in relation to DEIB. • Develop and lead an integrated approach to DEIB in line with the organisation's values and behaviours and best practice. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Producing a three-year strategy for the delivery of DEIB best practice and education. This should include: - Creation and roll out of educational resources - DEIB White papers, case studies, and round tables - Subject specific articles for online and print media - Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity • Delivering the strategy in partnership across the IoH and wider industry. • Building, and developing partnerships for delivery. • Engagement and relationships with employers and IoH members to support DEIB and Wellbeing strategies and the rollout of such. • Development and rollout of an industry DEIB Audit. • Development and management of an online DEIB helpline. • Identify and apply for funding sources to support the role, and making successful funding bids / applications • Provide regular updates to the IoH Management team, our funders, and key stakeholders. • Work with the IoH DEIB Council to take forward projects and initiatives. • Work closely with the IoH team to meet, and exceed, key objectives. • Act as DEIB lead for all IoH output to ensure fair representation for our membership and wider hospitality community. • Flexible approach to working patterns to suit the needs of the role and responsibilities as required. • To undertake any reasonable request outside of this job description • Carry out all duties and responsibilities in line with the Institute’s Articles of Association and Bye Laws COLLABORATIVE WORKING • Work collaboratively as part of the wider Institute of Hospitality Team. • Always promote the aims and objectives of the Institute of Hospitality.
