Job Title: Science Teacher (Physics or Biology Specialist) – Maidstone
Pay Rates: £163 - £230 per day (dependent on experience)
Full-Time, Long-Term Supply Contract – September 2025 – December 2025 (with potential for extension)

Supply Desk are currently recruiting a reliable, adaptable, and passionate Science Teacher for one of our large and well-regarded secondary schools in Maidstone. The school are seeking a teacher who is confident in delivering all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to Key Stage 4, with a specialism in either Physics or Biology to A Level.

This full-time role starts in September 2025 and runs until at least December 2025, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position. The school welcomes applications from both Newly Qualified Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners who are looking for a fresh opportunity within a supportive environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to KS3 and KS4, with the ability to teach Physics or Biology to KS5.
Be flexible, adaptable, and confident in managing a full teaching timetable.
Use effective classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
Demonstrate good understanding of Assessment for Learning (AfL) and differentiated instruction.
Be open to taking on full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, and parent communication.

Requirements:

QTS or QTLS status (or equivalent).
Recent experience teaching secondary Science in the UK (including PGCE placements for ECTs).
Strong subject knowledge, particularly in Physics or Biology at KS5 level.
Ability to provide professional references covering recent teaching experience.
Subject to Enhanced DBS, reference checks, and overseas police clearances (if applicable).
Legal right to work in the UK and a full employment/education history on your CV.
