The Optimisation Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing the performance of targets driven by advanced machine learning and AI technologies. Your role will involve updating, modifying, and validating these targets to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy. You will develop capabilities to leverage machine learning techniques for specific advancements and assist in creating novel machine learning applications, pushing the boundaries of innovation. We are looking for someone with a solid understanding of machine learning techniques and their application in production environments, along with technical knowledge of air separation and hydrogen production processes as well as an appetite to broaden their learning and technical skills. What you\'ll be doing
* Monitor and Optimize: Oversee the performance of targets driven by cutting-edge machine learning and AI technologies.
* Innovate and Improve: Update, modify, and validate targets to ensure peak efficiency and accuracy.
* Develop and Implement: Create capabilities to leverage machine learning techniques for specific advancements.
* Collaborate and Create: Assist in the development of novel machine learning applications, pushing the boundaries of innovation.
* Optimise and Control: Assist with the optimisation of the European ASU and HyCO fleet, working with sites, Optimisation Engineers and closely with the Advanced Control team to ensure efficient operation of the plants via best in class Multi Predictive Control routines.
* Synergies and Opportunity: Expand the role beyond machine learning with the opportunity to develop into the Advanced Control space.
What we\'re looking for
* Expertise in Machine Learning: Solid understanding of machine learning techniques and their application in production environments with prior experience.
* Technical Knowledge: Core understanding of air separation and hydrogen production processes.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Aptitude for troubleshooting and identifying new applications and improvements.
* Performance-Driven: Passionate about driving plant performance to the highest level.
* Technical Competence: Proficiency with in-house systems like PPM, Qlik Sense, IP21, etc.
* Personal Attributes: Organized, inquisitive, self-motivated and looking to develop and broaden their technical skills.
* Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel occasionally (5-10%) to facilities within Europe.
* Qualifications: Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree level qualification required.
