We are supporting a Lloyd's Insurer seeking a Senior Underwriting Analyst to to oversee underwriting performance, governance, and reporting within a Lloyd’s syndicate environment. This role will play a key part in delivering high-quality analytics, strengthening underwriting controls, and providing insight to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
* Produce and maintain internal and external underwriting reports, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of regulatory returns.
* Support the monitoring and enhancement of underwriting controls, ensuring alignment with internal policies and Lloyd’s regulatory requirements.
* Assist in the year-end audit process, including preparation of documentation, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring efficient resolution.
* Analyse underwriting performance and portfolio trends, providing actionable insights to underwriters and senior stakeholders
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes, reporting capabilities, and data quality.
* Support the development and enhancement of dashboards and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) to improve business insight
* Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, finance, and compliance teams to ensure data integrity and effective performance tracking
* Assist in governance and performance management activities across the underwriting function
* Provide mentoring and guidance to junior analysts where appropriate
Qualifications & Skills
* 4–7 years’ experience within the Lloyd’s market or wider insurance sector.
* Strong experience in underwriting analytics, reporting, or portfolio performance analysis.
* Solid understanding of underwriting processes, controls, and regulatory frameworks within a Lloyd’s environment.
* Advanced Excel skills (including data manipulation and modelling); experience with Power BI or similar visualisation tools.
