Reporting to the Finance Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will join a team of officers who undertake a variety of tasks including: internal auditing on financial transactions; helping to manage client balances via an in-house built tool; reporting on client balances; monitoring and recording breaches of Solicitors Accounts rules; communicating with other parts of the business on compliance queries; and working with external auditors to provide necessary information for Solicitors Accounts Rules audits. The firm is regulated by three UK regulators: The Solicitors Regulatory Authority (England & Wales), The Law Society of Scotland, and The Law Society of Northern Ireland, requiring adherence to three sets of accounts rules.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct internal audits on financial transactions and matter files to identify breaches or potential breaches of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
2. Generate reports to help identify breaches or potential breaches of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
3. Liaise with external auditors and regulators as required.
4. Coordinate and send emails for actions around client balances, including collating reports, identifying deadlines, reviewing matters, updating notes, and communicating required actions.
5. Assist with clearing residual balances, involving reconciliation work, searches, liaising with fee earners, contacting clients, and completing charity applications.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
* Experience in Legal accounts is highly advantageous but not essential.
* Self-motivation, determination, and confidence.
* Meticulous attention to detail and good organizational skills.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Understanding of legal terminology is advantageous.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
