Quality Auditor – Precision Machining & Inspection
Location: Near Warwick
Salary: Up to £43,000
Hours: 37.5 per week, core hours 8:30am–3:30pm, early finish Friday (1pm) once hours are completed
We’re recruiting a Quality Auditor to sit on the edge of the shop floor – you won’t be doing day‑to‑day inspection, but you’ll be making sure the people who do inspection and manufacturing are doing it right first time.
You’ll come from a senior component inspection background in low‑volume, precision batch machining, and be strong on GD&T and how complex machined parts should be checked.
Quality Auditor role
* Audit the inspection work and methods of around 20 machinists/inspectors
Check they’re:
* Using the right measuring equipment
* Reading drawings & GD&T correctly
* Following agreed inspection processes
* Own and refine a shop‑floor audit plan based on findings and any quality issues
* Carry out regular reviews of new starters
* Produce simple weekly audit reports and keep a capability matrix up to date
* Support, coach and hold people to account on inspection standards
* Occasionally audit night and weekend shifts (around once per month)
What we’re looking for
* Experienced senior inspector of precision‑machined components in a batch environment
* Fully conversant with engineering drawings and GD&T
* Background in low‑volume precision steels/castings (ideal)
* Confident in product and process auditing
* Strong interpersonal skills – firm but fair, able to challenge and support
* Computer‑literate and comfortable producing clear reports
This suits someone who has inspected precision parts on the shop floor and now wants to step into a more audit‑focused, oversight role while still being close to manufacturing.
