Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level 1 trauma and neuro experience, BLS certification, and a valid WA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center within a large teaching hospital
Evening shift, 3x12 hours per week, variable start time 10:45 to 23:15
Handles 60-70 cases in a 25-bed OR unit
Primary service lines include ortho, spine, and neuro; no cardiac or transplant cases
Uses Pyxis medication system and Epic EMR (experience required)
No floating required outside of unit
No on-call duties
Weekend shifts required; Sunday night is not considered a weekend shift
Scrubs provided by the facility
Travelers must be flexible with scheduling and are highly preferred to work Christmas shifts
No block scheduling accommodated; flexibility is expected for shifts and holidays
Travelers may not request time off during orientation week
Holiday time off is limited; 1 major holiday off and up to 3 additional non-holiday days allowed (certain blackout dates apply)
Orientation includes modules (5-6 hours pre-start) and in-person Epic training during onboarding
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Parking is limited and paid, with both onsite and offsite options available
Requirements Current WA or compact RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
Must have completed WA 6-hour suicide prevention training if using compact license
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center with neuro cases
Circulating skills required
Epic EMR experience required
COVID vaccination and booster required
First-time travelers accepted
Prior staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 months
Two professional references required, at least one supervisory preferred
Pass/fail EKG exam required with a minimum score of 80%
