If you're a skilled writer with a keen interest in what's going on in the world and a passion for communicating with children, you could be a staff writer on The Week Junior – the award-winning weekly current affairs magazine for 8 to 14-year-olds – and its sibling The Week Junior ScienceNature, which is published every four weeks. What you'll be doing Reporting to the Editor, you'll be working across both magazines, researching and writing on a range of topics every day. These could be anything from a story about Iran and the Strait of Hormuz to a debate about whether aliens exist or a face-to-face interview with a famous children's author or illustrator. You'll attend a weekly news conference, where you'll pitch your own ideas for the events and subjects we should be covering, and you'll support the editors with their day-to-day responsibilities. You'll also be pitching future features, coming up with ideas for special editions and spin-offs, representing the brand at events, contributing to our podcasts and getting to know our readers.
