About the Role:
We are seeking a committed and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to lead our small, specialist Nurture Room, supporting children with complex needs. The role involves creating a nurturing, safe, and structured environment for six primary-aged children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), who are awaiting placements in specialist settings. You will work closely with a team including the SENDCo, pastoral staff, and external professionals, supported by two experienced Teaching Assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and deliver personalized learning activities tailored to individual EHCPs.
2. Create a structured, supportive, and therapeutic classroom environment.
3. Foster social, emotional, and communication development.
4. Collaborate with the SENDCo and other professionals to implement individual plans effectively.
5. Support children in regulating their behavior using trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be a qualified/experienced HLTA (or equivalent) with SEND, SEMH, or complex needs experience.
* Confidently lead small-group learning and manage challenging behaviors.
* Have strong emotional resilience and a nurturing, patient approach.
* Be passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
