Overview and Responsibilities
Location: Minehead, Somerset
Salary: £12.37 - £13.49 per hour + 14.5% holiday pay
Hours: Flexible shifts to suit you
Welcome to Aurora Foxes, a specialist college and training hotel for young people with learning disabilities, situated in the friendly seaside town of Minehead. Foxes is a very special place.

The main purpose of the role:
As one of our Education Learning Support Practitioners your role will be to assist our students during a range of sessions within our residential houses, classrooms and at Foxes Hotel. Your role is to help achieve our mission which is to equip young adults with learning disabilities to find sustainable employment in the hospitality sector and to live independently.
Our bank staff are able to choose what shift they want to take on, giving them a great deal of flexibility
Key duties:
1. You will have high expectations of all students, and to constantly challenge and stretch each student at every opportunity.
2. To support the students in their learning, enabling them to reach their full potential.
3. To professionally and effectively support with managing student behaviour, seeking further advice and guidance where appropriate.
4. Support every student to make progress in each session under the guidance of the tutor, and to assist the tutor in ensuring this progress is recorded, evidenced and evaluated effectively and efficiently.
5. To be able to creatively produce resources that will support student progress.
6. Respect the privacy (confidentiality) and dignity of all students and at all times adhere to the equality and diversity policy.
7. Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidate qualities:
8. Experience in a similar role desirable but training can be provided for the right candidate
9. Experience of working within a hospitality setting, either Front of House or Food Preparation
10. Experience in supporting in the care or education industry
11. Desirable an understanding of working with people with a disability
12. Level 2 in English and Maths
13. (Desirable) Level 3 qualification in education
