SALES AND PURCHASE LEDGER ASSISTANT- Based in HQ Team Valley Overview of V.H. Bio Limited VH Bio is a leading supply and distribution company for the life sciences industry within the United Kingdom and Ireland. The company supplies laboratory testing products and equipment to a variety of routine and research life-science laboratory segments including Hospital, academia, and industry. Overview of the Position The Sales and Purchase Ledger Assistant will be based in the V.H. Bio Headquarters Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead. Reporting to Finance Manager, the position will be to oversee all sales and purchase aspects of the company and to assist with the running of the general office to provide a courteous, prompt and efficient service to all customers. As the Sales & Purchase Ledger Assistant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the sales and purchase ledger process. You will ensure that each transaction will run smoothly, efficiently and to deadline by following company procedures, compliance and legalities. Tasks and Responsibilities (including but not limited to): * Sales Ledger / Sales Order Processing: Processing customer orders through to invoicing. * Maintaining and updating the sales ledger database and to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. * Processing Sample Requests * Purchase Ledger / Purchase Order Processing: re-ordering of stock and liaising with suppliers to resolve any issues. * Handling Customer Queries: Responding to customer inquiries about invoices, payments, and account balances. * Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities. Preferred Educational and Background Experience: * Entry Level AAT Qualification or Experience in a similar role. * Experience with Sage 200. * Proficient in MS Excel. * Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills. * Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors * Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service. * Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and external customers to deliver results. Salary & Benefits: * £25,000- £30,000 per annum depending on level of experience * Non-Contributory Pension Scheme whereby, a sum equal to 8% of your salary will be paid into the Scheme by the Company Private Health scheme. * 23 days holiday allowance pro-rated for partial years, of which 3 must be kept for the shutdown period during Christmas, plus statutory holidays, rising by 1 day for every year’s service to a maximum of 28 days after 5 years
