We are recruiting for a Technology Pilots Framework Lead. This role integrates within the technology team, and interfaces transversally with other functions. Within the technology team, the role sits alongside the Global BIM Director and the Core Development Director, and their distributed communities (the BIM network and the Computational Collective). It is supported by SCPO for delivery assurance.
Transversally, the role interfaces many touchpoints where technology solution are being trialled, evaluated, and piloted in support to project digital delivery (IM, BIM), design (Computational Engineering) and Project management (bid, manage, risk & change control)
The Role
The Technology Pilots Lead drives Buro Happold's market-facing technology adoption strategy by identifying, trialling, and delivering new digital capabilities that support practice transformation and project outcomes. Acts as the "business champion" for the "buy" side of the make/buy digital strategy—working with the project teams, disciplines, and technology communities (RBL, RALs, CE) and to bring market ready technology solution into practice.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the pipeline of technology pilots, from scoping and business case through testing and evaluation to adoption (or holding back to watch list), ensuring rigorous process, transparency, and measurable impact.
The role is responsible for aligning pilots with business priorities, coordinating cross-discipline pilot teams, working with IT for vendor engagement, and ensuring robust feedback and handover for BAU adoption where warranted.

Collaborates with BIM & Digital Delivery, Computational Engineering, Procurement, IT, project teams, Automation Programme, AI Programme, and discipline knowledge managers.

Responsibilities
* Technology Pilots Framework Management
* Accountable for defining, maintaining and communicating the pilots programme, including business case development, pilot criteria, and evaluation framework
* Lead cross-function pilot selection, managing intake process (Tech Funnel), scoping, coordination and reporting.
* Develop project-aligned KPIs for pilot solutions and ensure outcome-driven assessment of each market technology trial.
* Oversee pilot project schedules, budgets, and resource plans in partnership with sponsors and disciplines.
* Leads engagement with technology vendors, startups, and partners for pilot opportunities, ensuring alignment with BH business/discipline needs.
* Coordinate with egal, procurement and IT onboarding for new digital solutions, ensuring compliance, security and risk assessment.
* Adoption & Impact
* Own the transition from successful pilot to project-wide or discipline-wide adoption, including documentation, handover to operational teams, and lessons‑learned capture
* Steward the "Pilot-to-Production" pathway, collaborating with process owners for upskilling, integration and communication
* Track and report on measurable outcomes, including cost savings, productivity gains, business risk changes and user feedback
* Internal Collaboration & Process Ownership
* Drive transparency and consistency via Magellan and other reporting platforms
* Integrate pilot learnings with computational development (make), BIM & Digital Delivery, and change management
