Acute Visiting Service Paramedic Opportunities
Are you ready to take your Paramedic career beyond emergency response and make a real impact in community care? We are seeking a full‑time, temporary HCPC‑registered Paramedic to join our Acute Visiting Service on an 8‑month fixed‑term contract (June 2026 – January 2027) covering maternity leave.
About the Role/Learning Opportunities
As an AVS Paramedic you will:
* Visit patients in their homes as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Provide urgent care, clinical assessment, and treatment in the community.
* Support local GP practices and primary care networks to deliver safe, responsive care.
* Play a vital role in reducing hospital admissions and improving patient outcomes.
* Develop independent primary and urgent care clinical practice, conducting same‑day consultations on home visits.
* Gain exposure to women’s health, chronic disease management, cancer care, and other primary‑care specialties.
Work Hours & Working Environment
Full‑time (37.5 h per week) during primary‑care service hours 10:00 am‑6:00 pm, Monday‑Friday. Some meetings may require attendance outside core hours.

About the Applicant
Qualified Paramedic, HCPC‑registered.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Passionate about delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct home visits and same‑day consultations across the PCNs (Horizon, Whitefield, Prestwich).
* Support the development of primary and urgent care clinical practice.
* Follow GP joint training pathways and professional standards.
* Maintain accurate online documentation (EMIS, etc.).
* Engage with multidisciplinary teams within GP and allied health settings.
* Adhere to data‑protection, confidentiality, and health & safety policies.
* Actively participate in audit, quality improvement, and governance activities.
Qualifications & Experience
* BSc Paramedic Practice/Science (or currently undertaking a BSc top‑up).
* 5 years post‑registration experience (flexible for the right candidate).
* HCPC registration, access to own car (business insurance & valid driving licence).
* Experience with online patient documentation such as EMIS.
* DBS reference standard and criminal record checks.
Personal / Professional Development

* Attendance at training programmes; may occur outside normal hours or off site.
