Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our developing, dedicated team of clinicians supporting our children and young people at Trimdon Hill School. This cross‑disciplinary role focuses on supporting Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists. The successful candidate will work closely with the therapy team, education team, and families to provide evidence‑based assessments and interventions to support pupils’ needs and engagement.
Responsibilities
Provide evidence‑based assessments and interventions under supervision; develop communication and sensory profiles; contribute to placement plans and deliver a range of interventions; observe and co‑facilitate staff training; attend multi‑agency meetings; support ongoing service development; and engage in continual professional development through internal forums and external training opportunities.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 GCSE passes including English at Grade C or above
* Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required
* Experience working as a therapy assistant or in a similar role (advantageous)
* Experience in an educational setting (advantageous)
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Knowledge of working with children and young people with SEN
* Ability to carry out both 1:1 and group sessions under supervision
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, including conveying complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, carers, families and a wide range of professionals
* Excellent organisational skills and experience completing administration tasks for a team
