Speciality Doctor in Addiction Psychiatry

This post provides the specialist clinical and professional skills of a Specialty Doctor in Addiction Psychiatry, supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and a Specialist Doctor in Addiction Psychiatry.
The role serves a progressive, patient-centred, recovery-based addiction service across the Bellshill, Motherwell, and Wishaw localities of Lanarkshire. It involves working with patients who often have backgrounds of deprivation and past psychological trauma. We are seeking a motivated doctor to join this team and assist patients on their road to recovery.
The post is based at the Airbles Road Centre, Motherwell.
The post-holder will work closely with multi-disciplinary community addiction team staff in Bellshill, Motherwell, and Wishaw, including nursing, social care, occupational therapy, psychology, and medical staff, as well as the Substance Misuse Nursing Liaison team at University Hospital Wishaw.
Regular joint working with mental health services, social work services, the acute sector (e.g., medical services and A&E), third sector, and peer support services is also expected.
Addiction Psychiatry inpatient care is provided at the University Hospital Wishaw psychiatric unit under the supervision of Addiction Psychiatry service medical staff. The job plan includes time for non-clinical activities such as CPD, research, and clinical audit.
