Overview

The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour. The festive season at Boots is a busy and important time for our operations team. As a Retail Operations Assistant, you will be at the heart of the action, picking and packing online orders to ensure customers receive the high-end festive experience. This is a temporary contract with potential for a permanent role later depending on local opportunities.


About the role

You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities include:

* Picking and Packing: pick and pack online orders using handheld devices.
* Delivery Assistance: assist with incoming deliveries, unloading and sorting stock.
* Stock Management: manage shelves to ensure they are well-stocked and organized.
* Working to Targets: work toward stretching daily targets to contribute to the team goal.
* Customer Interaction: occasionally interact with customers on the shop floor, answering questions or using the tills when required.

What you’ll need to have

Full training is provided. Essential skills and experience include:

* Speed & Accuracy: enjoy following process, work quickly while staying precise.
* Target-Driven: self-motivated and focused to achieve individual targets.
* Team Player: collaborative mindset to help the team meet store goals.
* Physical Stamina: on your feet, standing, walking and lifting.
* Tech-Savvy: comfortable learning and using new technology, including handheld devices.
* Customer Service Skills: friendly attitude and willingness to help customers when needed.

Desirable skills

These are not essential, but desirable:

* Experience in a retail or warehouse environment
* Experience using hand-held scanners or inventory systems
* Familiar with Boots products to quickly identify items for online orders
