Payments Administrators provide system and payments administration for modules of the Financial Management System (FMS), including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Purchasing Management. Specific areas of responsibility will be identified by the Management Team and may be changed periodically.
Payments Administrators will work with colleagues to maintain a generic, flexible approach to tasks assigned to the Payments team based within Financial Services.
Requirements
To administer FMS and related systems
To train departmental and section users of FMS
To assist with the development of FMS
Handle various enquiries both written and verbal
To work closely with other members of the Payments team to ensure all responsibilities are carried out according to set timescales
The Individual
Experience of working in a busy office environment using relevant technologyExperience in general Finance Administration3 SQA Highers at level 3 or above including Maths or equivalentWorking knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office software and computerised ledger systemsSelf-confident and self-motivatedStrong customer care skills and focusEffective organisational and procedural skills including time managementTo work on their own initiative when required to specified deadlinesA flexible approach to new working practices and technology Ability to maintain accuracy when working to tight deadlinesAble to maintain confidentialityAbility to work as part of a team in order to ensure that the operational demands of processing tasks are metAbility to use own initiativeEffective communication skills – written and verbal - and ability to relate well with all levels of staff Willingness to accept direction and delegationAbility to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service, including new working practices and technologyAbility to work in an open plan officeAbility to work in different offices dependent on service requirements
