Do you have lived experience of recovery from an eating disorder? Do you want to shape how our patients' voices are heard? The FREedOM Provider Collaborative is looking for a Lived Experience Practitioner to join our small, friendly, and supportive team.
The Provider Collaborative recognizes that the Lived Experience Practitioner role is fundamental in ensuring that service users, their families, and carers are at the heart of, and have a voice in, the decisions made about their care.
Under the guidance of the Quality and Safeguarding Lead and with support from the commissioning team, you will work collaboratively with experts by experience (EBE) and colleagues through models and techniques of participation. You will play an integral role in supporting, developing, and embedding co-production principles across the Provider Collaborative and will contribute to the development and implementation of participation and experience plans.
This is a permanent, part-time role of 30 hours, with flexible hours to be agreed. The role requires a presence across our PC sites, so being a driver is essential. The role is primarily based from home.
Applications from candidates requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
With support, you will lead engagement workshops, training, and activities with service users, carers, families, and staff to support service development and quality oversight.
You will organize your workload using independent judgment to prioritize tasks and duties.
You will collaborate with FREedOM PC Providers to establish best practice approaches to service user engagement, including face-to-face or virtual workshops and research activities such as surveys.
You will guide and inform the implementation of FREedOM PC’s clinical model through personal experience and collaboration with service users and carers, ensuring their voices are central to the model.
Across the PC’s footprint, you will promote innovative and creative ways of working to improve the experience of those using adult eating disorder services across Dorset, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight, along with their carers and families.
The successful candidate must be willing and able to undertake relevant training.
Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover. Applicants subscribing to the DBS update service can present a valid certificate instead of a new check.
