£53,500 - £60,000 per annum + bonus on Basic Salary + Benefits

Shotton, North Wales (10 miles from Chester)
Work Pattern:
Shifts - 4 on 4 off with 5 x 18 day breaks per year
The Role:
Acorn by Synergie is seeking applicants who are able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, on behalf of their client, who have good communication skills and are self-motivated and enthusiastic. Within the role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Working as part of a team to provide specialist engineering support to the manufacturing production lines.
2. Responding to plant breakdowns, methodically diagnosing faults to ensure the line is running again as soon as possible.
3. Carrying out design, software modifications, and improvements to the plant equipment whilst adhering to onsite software management systems.
4. Identifying solutions to problems, being methodical in your approach and using supporting diagnostics to identify root causes.
5. Designing and implementing PLC code.
6. Providing commissioning support for major line improvements.
7. Writing and maintaining onsite Electrical procedures.
8. Executing new projects.
9. Conducting investigations into plant issues.
The Candidate:
You will have undertaken a time served apprenticeship and educated to a HNC level or above in an Electrical/ Electronic/ Instrumentation discipline. Key Skills Required:
* Experience of working with Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logix OR Siemens S7 PLC's is essential.
* Experience of AC or DC Inverter drives, fault finding, commissioning and programming.
* Thorough understanding of relay logic and the ability to fault find from Engineering drawings - P&ID'S, Electrical Schematics and control loop diagrams.
* Instrumentation knowledge, maintaining and fault finding control loops.
* Some knowledge of industrial communication protocols i.e. DeviceNet / Profibus / Profinet / TCP/IP.
* Some SCADA and HMI development experience.
* Methodical fault finding skills are essential.
* Good knowledge of health and safety.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Some knowledge of Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems.
