Principal Commercial Officer / Manager – Defence Programmes
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2–3 days on-site
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship
The Opportunity
Join an active, motivated commercial team with my Client, supporting the early product lifecycle, research, and technology that delivers critical defence capability to the UK Armed Forces and international customers.
You’ll play a key role in winning new business, delivering contracts, and managing commercial risk, working closely with engineering, project, and customer teams across a diverse portfolio.

Manage complex, high-value contracts across the full lifecycle

Lead negotiations and contract changes within agreed boundaries
*
Act as the commercial interface for internal and external stakeholders
*
Build strong customer and industry partner relationships
*
Report progress and risks to senior management

Strong commercial and negotiation skills
*
Experience managing complex contracts and change control
*
Solid understanding of contract law, IP, risk, and liabilities
*
Ability to draft and amend terms & conditions
*
Commercial insight from customer to supplier
*
Comfortable using SAP and business systems
