As a Principle Hardware Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality industrial control panels and systems across diverse projects-primarily within the food and beverage sector. Your work will drive tangible improvements for leading UK and international clients.,
Responsibilities
* Design industrial control panels, MCCs, and automation hardware to meet customer specifications and safety standards (IEC, UL, BS EN).
* Create detailed schematics, block diagrams, general arrangements, and wiring schedules.
* Produce accurate documentation, including equipment lists, cable schedules, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure seamless delivery.
* Support procurement and resolve technical queries during assembly, installation, and commissioning.
* Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Engage professionally with clients, suppliers, and colleagues to deliver solutions-focused outcomes.

Qualifications
* Proven experience in designing industrial control panels, MCCs, or automated hardware assemblies.
* Proficiency with CAD packages and electrical schematic design.
* Strong knowledge of industry standards (BS EN 61439, IEC 60204, UL508A) and safe electrical practices.
* Familiarity with PLCs, relays, safety devices, VSDs, HMIs, and related components.
* Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree) or equivalent experience.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills with a collaborative mindset.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Experience in the food and beverage sector is advantageous.
