Overview
We are looking for an inspiring senior nurse who is committed to improving the experience, clinical outcomes and safety of our patients within Cancer Services. As a Toxicity Nurse Specialist working closely with the oncology medical team and wider MDT you will be a skilled communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others, and someone who inspires others to provide excellent patient care. With comprehensive SACT knowledge, leadership experience and a commitment to service improvement, you will help further develop nurse led patient care and deliver an exceptional service to our patients.
Responsibilities
* Autonomous working, through provision of advanced assessment, initiation of investigations, diagnostic procedures, interpretation of results and optimising patient condition in discussion with the multidisciplinary team.
* Engage directly with clinical teams in the management of SACT oncology patients, providing specialist advice, leadership, collaboration and consultancy.
* Coordinate the pathway of patients with SACT services across multi professional teams, through treatment, follow up and beyond.
* Play an instrumental part of the effective leadership team for the Haematology/Oncology day unit and the outpatient areas and contribute to improving patient experience.
* Provide a safe working environment for all patients, relatives and staff, including risk management and Datix reporting and investigation as part of the role.
