We now have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician - Electrical to join our team, supporting the delivery of high-quality maintenance and installation services across the Durham region. About the Role As a Maintenance Technician - Electrical, you will play a key role in ensuring our buildings are safe, compliant, and operational for NHS colleagues and patients. You'll be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works, alongside installation activities across a diverse estate. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll work independently across multiple sites while also collaborating closely with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver excellent service. You will also participate in an on-call rota (approximately 1 in 12), supporting out-of-hours response where required. Who You Are You are a qualified Electrical Engineer/Technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service. You enjoy problem solving, working independently, and being part of a supportive team. You bring a proactive mindset, a strong safety focus, and the ability to adapt to different environments and challenges across a multi-site portfolio. Key Responsibilities Carry out electrical maintenance and installation works across NHSPS sites Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with schedules Respond to reactive maintenance issues, fault finding and repairs Ensure all works comply with health & safety and regulatory standards Maintain accurate records of completed work and compliance activities Liaise with contractors and colleagues to support effective service delivery Provide excellent customer service to building users and stakeholders Support continuous improvement and safe working practices What You Bring NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (Essential) Experience in electrical maintenance, installation, or both Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently across multiple sites Full UK driving licence Desirable (not essential): 18th Edition (training provided if not held) Experience within healthcare or facilities management environments Additional multi-trade skills Where you'll be This role is based from Boldon, covering the Durham area. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, with participation in an on-call rota.
