Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our Construction (Building) Division in Glasgow. This role is key to managing the strategic planning of projects during the pre-construction phase, from RIBA Stage 1 to 4, with support into Stages 5 and 6 as needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee all Pre-Construction Services Agreement activities, ensuring successful project setup.
2. Coordinate pre-construction activities with design, commercial, operational, and client teams.
3. Contribute to tendering processes and bid strategies.
4. Develop and manage pre-construction programmes aligned with project and client goals.
5. Manage costs, budgets, and risks in collaboration with estimating and commercial teams.
6. Promote innovation and sustainability, including modern methods of construction and industry best practices.
Essential Criteria
* Extensive experience in pre-construction project management within the construction industry.
* Ability to lead and coordinate complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
* Strong skills in programme planning, cost control, and procurement.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Understanding of RIBA stages and pre-construction best practices.
* Experience in risk management to ensure project stability.
Desirable Criteria
* Chartered status with bodies like CIOB, RICS, or ICE.
* Knowledge of modern methods of construction (MMC) and sustainability initiatives such as BREEAM and PAS 2080.
* Experience with large-scale commercial or public sector projects.
* Understanding of local authority planning regulations and site logistics.
