Independent Domestic Violence Advisor
We have an exciting opportunity for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to join the DRIVE IDVA Team working 37.5 hours a week. This role involves both face-to-face and virtual support in a hybrid working model, including working from home and the office, with travel throughout London.

Location and Details
* County/Borough: Greater London
* Office Location: 3rd Floor, 5-7 Singer Street, London, EC2A 4AP
* Full/Part Time: Full time
* Hours per Week: 37.5
* Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, with potential flexibility over 7 days depending on service needs
Salary and Contract
* Qualified: Total £30,850 per annum (FTE £28,050 + £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)
* Unqualified: Total £28,810 per annum (FTE £26,010 + £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)
* Contract Type: Fixed Term

Role Responsibilities
* Work in partnership with other professionals to ensure risk management and safeguarding duties are effectively met.
* Develop and maintain effective partnerships with statutory, private, and voluntary agencies to address domestic abuse issues.
* Implement effective methods of working with victims and supporters to increase safety and reduce harm.
* Manage a caseload focusing on high-risk survivors, providing medium to long-term support based on thorough risk assessments and safety planning.
* Attend regular case meetings with DRIVE Case Managers and partnership agencies.
* Operate within a multi-agency framework, including MARAC and local response teams, to prioritize victim safety.
Candidate Requirements
* Knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
* Understanding of domestic abuse impacts on victims and children.
* Principles of risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management for victims and children.
* Understanding safeguarding issues and legal responsibilities.
* Experience in direct service delivery to victims or vulnerable populations.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, both written and verbal.
