Overview
Senior Nurse – Bradford is a role within Marie Curie UK’s Early Identification Service. The service is based in Bradford and surrounding areas, operating in primary care and partnered GP surgeries to identify patients who may be in the last year of life and not yet identified as needing palliative care. You will visit patients in their homes, offer support, complete advance care planning, and signpost to other services. This is a part-time role and travel within the region is required.

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, AFC 6 – £38,682 – £46,580 pro rata per annum

Responsibilities
* Work autonomously and manage your own caseload within the Early Identification Service.
* Provide nursing and palliative care expertise to influence patient care in Bradford.
* Offer support to patients, complete advance care planning, and signpost to hospice, voluntary, or community services.
* Visit patients in their own homes and coordinate referrals to appropriate services.
* Train and develop colleagues, investigate incidents, and collaborate with hospice and community services to support patients and families.
* Support the Healthcare Assistant for the service.
* Travel to visit patients in the community; driving and access to a vehicle insured for business use is essential.
What we’re looking for / Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on NMC Register
* Experience in mentorship/teaching qualification
* Advanced communication skills and ability tohave sensitive conversations with patients
* Strong time management and ability to plan and schedule workload to meet patient care requirements
* Core hours 8:30am–4:30pm with flexible working around patient needs (out-of-hours appointments)
* Understanding of end-of-life and terminal-phase patient needs
* Driving licence and access to your own vehicle; willingness to travel within the region
* Cultural competence
