We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Welfare Officer to join as soon as possible. You will be required to work from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday-Friday, in this full-time position.

The following responsibilities must be met by applicants:
8. Be responsible for the welfare, safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and child protection across their allocated part of the school
9. First day absence calling where needed and home visits as required: attendance reporting for senior leadership, when needed
10. Meet with teaching and support staff regarding individual or small groups of pupils to support them to reach their full potential and keep them safe
11. Where needed support pupils with intervention which support their social and emotional development and promote good mental health
12. Work as part of the safeguarding team to ensure all pupils are safe
13. Other duties, training and/or hours of work may be reasonably requested, consistent with the level of responsibility of this job
Core requirements for this role:
14. Eligibility to work in the UK (Essential)
15. An enhanced DBS on the update service
16. 2 proven relevant references
17. Experience of working with pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
18. Have experience with writing social care reports to contribute to social care meetings
19. Excellent oral and written communication skills including letters and emails
20. A friendly, positive and open disposition
21. A commitment to safeguarding
22. To communicate medical issues to all relevant staff/agencies/parents
