Your Newpany:We are recruiting an experienced General Building Operative to work at HMP Gartree expected to be ongoing on a temporary basis for the next few months. This is a long-term temporary contract offering sociable, full-time hours and overtime. There is the possibility for a permanent role for the right candidate.
Your new role:As a General Building Operative, you'll be involved in a wide range of tasks crucial to our daily operations. Your responsibilities will typically include:
1. Care and maintenance of tools, machinery, materials and additionalpany property.
2. Health and Safety of self and others in the workplace in accordance withpany policy.
3. Delivery of works allocated to quality is required within set timescales.
4. Toply with the relevantpany Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directives.
5. To deliver fabric repairs in both occupied and void properties.
To undertake out of hours call out duties as per Rota requirements.Details:Pay Frequency: WeeklyWorking Days: Monday to Friday (overtime cover at weekends available)Working Hours: 39 hours per weekWhat you'll need to succeedYou will need to be honest, hard-working, reliable, trustworthy and have great attention to detail, alongside being an excellent team player. All applicants who are interested in the position must pass Prison Clearance, which can take up to 8 weeks or more. You will need a passport or photo driving licence to apply for clearance. Once passed, this is valid for 5 years and can be transferred to any other prisons of a similar category.QualificationsTime served apprenticeship in a relevant trade• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in joinery or similar discipline• Current full UK driving licence
