Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide support and assistance to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support.
Duties
As a Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Providing patient care and monitoring vital signs to ensure the well-being of clients.
* Supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and Alzheimer's care.
* Maintaining a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties.
* Assisting with medication administration as per care plans.
* Engaging clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and companionship.
* Utilizing equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers when necessary.
* Documenting patient observations and reporting any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
* Experience in home health care, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
* Familiarity with first aid and CPR techniques is essential.
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
* Experience in caregiving or direct support roles is highly valued.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
