The Role:
As a Delivery Engineer you will be responsible for the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of work on the LV & HV distribution network to time, cost and quality targets ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation and company codes of practice.
In the event of a fault, you will be required undertake LV & HV switching to restore power to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on Safety Performance by setting an exceptional example to colleagues across functions, challenging others when required.
Deliver a first-class service to our customers
The management and execution of LV & HV Capital Projects and Switchgear Maintenance, which may include cable overlays, switchgear replacement and overhead line refurbishment
The management of both LV and HV faults, within unit cost and time constraints
The Training and Development of colleagues, up to 11kV SAP and Field Control
Acting as a mentor for less experienced staff
Directing and managing the activities of industrial teams and contractors on site, providing operational support where required. This may involve checking that all internal staff on site have the correct skills, competencies and authorisations to carry out the work required of them, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ensuring contractor payments for third parties are justified, accurate and are dealt with in a timely manner
Undertaking standby duties on a rota in accordance with the JNC agreement.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Hold a minimum of a HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent (Essential)
Hold LV authorisation, including LV Fault Management (Essential)
Hold a minimum of 11kV SAP Authorisation (Essential)
Hold 11kV SAP with Field Control Authorisation (Desirable)
Demonstrate a high level of engineering experience and knowledge, in the fields of LV & HV Fault Management, Overhead Line construction up to 11kV, Underground Construction up to 11kV, Plant Maintenance, Plant Construction, New Connections up to 11kV and Protection testing
Have a working knowledge of the relevant Codes of Practice and the Industry as a whole (Essential)
Be able to work by yourself with a minimal amount of supervision and be responsible for managing capital, fault and maintenance targets and costs and producing reports as necessary
Be proficient in MS Office with good analytical skills and with the ability to produce and interpret spreadsheets and to produce MI reports
Have experience of training and mentoring engineering and industrial staff
Be focussed on providing exceptional customer service
Be an excellent written and verbal communicator
Hold a full UK driving licence (Essential)
