Job Description In-Service Installations & HPDHR Tank Section Lead - Submarines Full time Derby Hybrid (3 days per week in office) What you will be doing The Vessel & Installations Design In-Service (PWR2) group are reaching a crucial time in the continued support of CASD, as platform lifetimes are increasing, and more boats are entering into service. As Installations & HPDHR section lead, you will be responsible for the continued maintenance of the current safety case, responding to emergent requests as the technical authority. The product scope of the role covers the design of pipework, fittings, mounts, the HPDHR hard tank and a number of special assemblies across the operational fleet. You will have a direct input into ensuring Rolls-Royce does its part in keeping the UK Submarines safe and at sea. Responsibilities Your role will include: Responsible for product safety and plant availability on operational submarines for the products within the team’s scope (Pipework, fittings, mounts, HPDHR Hard Tank and a number of special assemblies). Update and author safety case documentation to maintain component live files. Effective communicator and able to influence seniors & Submarines Enterprise partners including the Customer, Regulator and personnel at the Shipbuilder and Fleet Maintainer sites, to achieve safe and available product. Capable of liaising with multiple sites including Devonport, Faslane and Barrow to support build, commissioning and operational platforms. Effective project management of high volume of emergent demands, frequently balancing the prioritisation of critical-to-safety and critical-to-programme requirements with existing committed/planned load. Lead by example and champion continuous improvement and the company values and behaviours. Act as delegate for the PWR2 Group Lead, as required. Why Rolls-Royce? Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent STEM degree with appropriate industry experience in Design or Engineering roles.
