Summary We are seeking a meticulous and engaging Training and Compliance Officer to ensure our school catering operations, staff, and practices not only meet, but exceed legal, hygiene, nutritional standards and company policies across all sites. This is a crucial role for someone with a proactive approach who can develop, implement, and deliver training programs, conduct regular audits, and maintain accurate records to support a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Main Responsibilities Be the Compliance Expert: Ensure strict adherence to HACCP, UK Food Safety Legislation, and the School Food Standards across all sites. Audit & Assure: Conduct regular, documented internal audits on food preparation, allergen control, H&S, and kitchen standards. Act as the primary contact for external inspections (e.g., EHO). Lead Training: Design and deliver engaging training programs (both in-person and online) to all catering staff-from basic food hygiene (Levels 2/3) and H&S to specialist allergen management and complex SEND dietary needs. Improve & Implement: Maintain accurate training records, identify skill gaps, and support the implementation of compliance procedures for new site mobilisations. Ideal Candidate We are looking for somebody who shares our passion for maintaining the highest standards of food and service for our customers, along with the following: 3 years of experience in a compliance, QA, or training role within the food service/catering industry (school environment preferred). Recognised qualifications in HACCP (Level 3) and Food Safety (Level 3). In-depth knowledge of UK School Food Standards and H&S regulations. Excellent presentation and communication skills with a proven ability to train diverse groups. Full UK Driving License and willingness to travel between school sites.
