Cell Development Project Engineer
Purpose of the Role: Cell Development Project Engineer in Oxford, UK. Function: Cell Technology / Cell Design. Reporting to: Head of Cell Design – Cell Technology / Cell Development.
Agratas is driving innovation in sustainable energy solutions. This Project Engineer will lead cross‑functional coordination, manage complex workflows, and ensure design traceability within cutting‑edge PLM systems, guiding lithium‑ion battery cell development from concept to volume manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* Drive coordination across product engineering functions to ensure efficient execution of multiple development programs.
* Manage internal materials logistics, oversee build efforts, and deliver technical information to stakeholders.
* Lead the transfer of knowledge between materials and product development teams, preparing concise technical reports.
* Own the management of build variants, materials, and assemblies within PLM (Teamcenter).
* Create and maintain EBOM configurations, ensuring consistency in naming conventions and hierarchies.
* Oversee engineering release of BOM configurations and establish robust catalogues for traceability.
* Facilitate the transfer of technical design information across functions, ensuring clarity and domain‑specific context.
* Champion best practices in process governance and configuration control.
Qualifications
* Advanced degree in Engineering or related discipline.
* Demonstrated success in supporting lithium‑ion battery development through program/project management.
* Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering team growth.
* Battery expertise: Significant experience in lithium‑ion battery development, from materials screening to volume manufacturing.
* PLM mastery: Deep knowledge of Teamcenter PLM, including requirements management, EBOM/MBOM/BOP, change management, and CAD data integration.
* Program management: Proven track record in program/project management within battery product development, strong cross‑functional communication skills.
* Analytical thinking: Experience in data analysis, modelling, and root cause failure analysis; ability to develop contingency plans under tight deadlines.
* Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills across R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement.
