We are working with a well-backed main contractor looking to appoint an experienced Preconstruction Manager with specialist Data Centre experience to support the growth of their Data Centre division in the UK.

The business already benefits from strong group support and infrastructure capability and is now looking to strengthen its preconstruction function with an industry professional who can help drive work-winning, technical solutions and early-stage project strategy across hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects.
The Role
The successful candidate will operate at a senior level, leading and shaping the preconstruction function for the Data Centre sector, playing a pivotal role in both work-winning and strategic growth. This position will act as a key bridge between business development, technical delivery and operational teams, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach across all opportunities.
Responsibilities will include:

Leading preconstruction activities across Data Centre bids and negotiated opportunities

Managing the bid process including programme, methodology, logistics and technical submissions
*
Coordinating multidisciplinary teams including design, commercial, planning and MEP specialists
*
Engaging with clients, consultants and supply chain partners during early project stages
*
Supporting tender strategy, risk management and value engineering exercises
*
Developing robust, competitive and deliverable proposals
*
Contributing to sector growth through client engagement and market intelligence
*
Supporting the transition from preconstruction through to project delivery teams
Key Requirements:

Proven experience in preconstruction or bid management within the Data Centre sector
*
Strong understanding of technical delivery, programme and commercial considerations
*
Experience working with hyperscale or enterprise Data Centre clients
*
Ability to manage complex bids and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
*
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
*
Track record of supporting successful project wins
*
Relevant construction or engineering background
