In the role of director, you will understand our client's industry and the issues they face and provide them with relevant advice. The combination of your audit and assurance skills, industry experience and on-going investment in new technologies and propositions will allow you to anticipate complex business problems for our clients and recommend appropriate action.

Your role
We are looking to expand our team by of focused, aspirational and collaborative practitioners, and as such we are offering the opportunity to join as a director to support this challenging and rapidly expanding business. As a member of our team, reporting to a Partner, you will have responsibility for:
* Consistently applying professional scepticism and technical rigour in order to deliver high-quality audits
* Consulting and collaborating with specialists in key areas of your audits
* Owning and communicating the importance of quality withing your teams and with the management of the entities you audit
* Driving a culture of coaching and developing your team members, including in relation to audit quality
* Leading conversations on engagement pricing
* Ensuring budgets are prepared in a timely manner and reflect the realistic resourcing needs of an audit and explaining variances from budget
* Active involvement in business development and tendering for new audits and assurance engagements
* Managing relationships with management and the board at audit entities
* Involvement in wider office practice management roles
* Representing Deloitte in the marketplace through presenting at seminars and other networking events
* Leading diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
Essential candidate requirements
* ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
* Previous experience of working with IFRS and / or UK GAAP reporting standards
* Experience in auditing financial services clients
* The ability to present client data in a clear and concise format
* Ability to develop effective relationships
* Project management experience

Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
