Senior Finance Manager – Manufacturing | Southend | Full-Time, Fixed term contract/Permanent
We’re working with a long-established, globally recognised manufacturing business based in Southend. With over 60 years of heritage and a reputation for craftsmanship and innovation, they’re now looking to appoint a Senior Finance Manager to play a key role in their continued growth.
The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded finance professional to join a dynamic and collaborative team. Reporting directly to the board, you’ll take full ownership of the month-end process, support operational teams, and help drive financial performance across the business.
You’ll be part of a small but impactful finance team, managing one direct report and working closely with production and delivery teams to ensure robust financial controls and insightful reporting. As a hands on and collaborative approach is needed this will require someone who can be in the office 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
Full ownership of the month-end process and preparation of board-level management accounts
Balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and salary journals
Revenue and cost recognition, WIP management, and variance analysis
Departmental margin analysis and financial commentary
Payroll, VAT returns, and intercompany reconciliations
Oversight of AP/AR, cashflow, and treasury management
Project cost reporting and financial oversight of production budgets
Preparation of statutory accounts and support with budgeting and forecasting
What We’re Looking For:
Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent experience)
Strong Excel and systems skills
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non-financial stakeholders
A proactive, hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
