Working in Group Finance, reporting to the Senior Group Accountant (Holding Company), the Assistant Group Accountant will work in close partnership with Group Finance Accountants, the Group Transfer pricing team and other relevant stakeholders across the IVC Evidensia Group.
The Assistant Group Accountant will be responsible for capturing and assisting with the maintenance of the Group transfer pricing recharges and the ownership of the Holding company banking functions. The role will be responsible for seeking data, keeping records accurate and up to date, and reporting on holding company transactions to stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
* Updating the Group transfer pricing recharge model for Group SOC costs as instructed by the Senior Group Accountant
* Updating the Group transfer pricing recharge model for Group SOC changes, as well as hived up/merged Group entities
* Preparation of journals and accurate accounting for the Group quarterly transfer pricing recharge for Group SOC costs - accounting required between the Holding company and all IVCE Group entities (existing and new acquisitions). This includes raising Intercompany invoices and posting across all IVCE Group entities
* Full reconciliation of quarterly transfer pricing recharge across the IVCE Group
* Inclusion of variance analysis commentary for the recharge (quarter on quarter)
* Supporting on annual transfer pricing interviews from an accounting perspective (along with the Senior Group Accountant and the Transfer pricing team)
* Ensuring pass through costs are accounted for correctly monthly
Holding Company Banking Functions
* Bank reconciliations
* Setting up of manual bank payments for external loans, loan interest, intercompany payments, hedge payments (swaps/caps), all acquisition payments + other ad hoc as requested by Group Treasury/Tax
Other Areas
* Working closely with the RTR team to ensure Group Care Fund postings made accurately monthly
* Preparation of monthly journals for small UK Holding Companies
* Assistance with ad hoc Group journal postings when required
* Preparation of files and responses for the Group’s auditors in relation to small Holding company accounting and Group management recharges
* Preparation of files and responses for the Group’s external statutory accounts provider in relation to small Holding company accounting and Group management recharges
Experience/Qualifications:
* In the early stages of obtaining ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent)
* Experience in and a good understanding of double entry accounting
* Strong business knowledge and commercial acumen
* Strong interpersonal skills with a confident, enthusiastic attitude and a proactive approach to accountancy
* Excellent analytical skills (Excel, Power BI) with the ability to convert complex data into useful information
* Excellent communication skills, incorporating written, verbal, presentation, and reporting at all levels
* Relationship building skills
