Location: Aberdeen City Music School, Halls of Residence, Duration: Permanent, Term Time Full Time R oles that require PVG Membership Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £ 16.50 per hour) The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment. Job purpose/about the role To assist the Residence Manager in the running of ACMS Boarding and to deputise in their absence, ensuring the service provides at all times a high quality service to the pupils of ACMS. ACMS boarding is registered with the Care Inspectorate as a mainstream school care accommodation service. The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 9 or approved equivalent i.e. SVQ/NVQ Health and Social Care (Level 4), SVQ 4 Health and Social Care at SCQF Level 9 to be able to register as a Supervisor with the SSSC. SSSC/GTC/NMC Registration or willing to become a member Protection of vulnerable Groups (PVG) membership The postholder is able to demonstrate: Experience of working with young people and their families Experience of staff supervision and people management Organisational skills Leadership skills Ability to work well in a team The ability to produce high quality written records and reports The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with young people, their families and other stakeholders Good IT skills including the use of Microsoft packages The ability to make decisions and take responsibility for own practice, seeking advice and support as necessary and also support the team with their practice Have a good sense of humor and able to use this appropriately About Us Please see the Job Profile for further details.
