The role
Are you passionate about supporting students to reach their full potential? Do you thrive in a role where every day brings new conversations, new challenges, and new opportunities to make a difference? If so, you could be a Student Success Coach at the University of Surrey.
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, empathetic, and energised by helping students navigate university life — academically, personally, and professionally. You’ll be part of a supportive team committed to improving student belonging, engagement, and outcomes.
The Student Success Coach plays a central role in fostering student engagement, wellbeing, and academic progression across the student lifecycle. Working closely with academic colleagues and specialist support services, the post holder will provide proactive, personalised, and data‑informed support to help students thrive, overcome challenges, and successfully progress through their programme. The role combines 1:1 coaching, group support, early‑intervention outreach, and ongoing case management to strengthen student belonging, attainment, and retention.
About You

* Can interpret data and use it to inform decisions.
* Is organised, adaptable, and able to manage a varied caseload.
* Understands the challenges students face and is motivated to help them succeed.
Experience in coaching, mentoring, student support, or advisory roles is beneficial — but above all, we’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about student success.
